Large Gold Filled Victorian Locket "Lions Head" Profile with Cabochon Ruby

This is a wonderful Vintage Victorian locket. The lions head is one of the most well done that I have seen. Even though the lion is roaring, he is not scary....he is so strong and beautiful.

Typical of the Victorian Era he has a cabochon Ruby for his eye. The carving is done in high relief and there are strands of wheat around the lions head and mane.

This locket is not only beautiful...but this quality of Victorian Figural locket is becoming rare. This piece is from my personal collection.
